MI Food Style Co., Ltd., a group company of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. and operator of 16 supermarkets (Queens Isetan) mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, will be holding the "Delicious Kyushu Delicious Food Market" and "Let's Do Our Best! Kumamoto Fair" for a limited time from October 15th to October 18th.
The spread of COVID-19 has led to people refraining from going out and halting exports, creating serious problems for producers. Furthermore, the heavy rains that hit the Kyushu region in July are still fresh in our memories. Queens Isetan is hosting the fair with the desire to "support producers by delivering delicious Kyushu food to customers" and "help customers enjoy their time at home a little more."
The "Umaka Kyushu Delicious Food Market" will feature a lineup of many new products. New additions include "Akashiya Karukan" from Kagoshima Prefecture, "Mogi Ichika Honke Biwa Dora" from Nagasaki Prefecture, and "Chidoriya Tyrolean Mix" from Fukuoka Prefecture. The prepared food section will feature "Local Kyushu Fried Chicken" flavored with garlic and ginger, the limited-edition "Kyushu Hanami Chicken and Domestic Chicken Rice Set," as well as a wide range of other "Kyushu delicacies" such as persimmons, sashimi, and sake.
The concurrently held "Ganbarou! Kumamoto Fair" will feature highly recommended products representing Kumamoto Prefecture, such as "Amakusa Sakura Madai," "Amanose Yellowtail," and "Akagyu Beef." We will also have a wide selection of seasonal flavors from Kumamoto Prefecture, including the specially selected "Hi no Sakigake Mikan" which meets strict standards for sugar content, citric acid, and coloring, and the "Batten Sweet Persimmon," named after the fact that it is astringent but sweet.
