Italian lifestyle brand Alessi will open a pop-up shop at Center Park/The Stage #5 on the 5th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building from November 16th to 29th.
Founded in 1921, Alessi is an Italian brand that develops lifestyle goods that resemble art objects. By adding art-like items to familiar everyday scenes, they bring a fresh sense of comfort.
The pop-up shop will be selling "Circus," a collection for the 2016 party season designed by Marcel Wanders, a globally acclaimed designer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In addition to the collection of 24 items including mugs, bowls, jars, and trays, the shop will also feature rare items such as music boxes and wine openers, limited to 999 pieces worldwide. The collection is inspired by Marcel Wanders's joyous world of the circus, and includes items such as a wine opener featuring a clown in a colorful diamond-patterned costume hopping merrily as he opens a bottle of wine, and a music box featuring a ballerina elephant dancing on a gold ball. Other items include a fun doorbell featuring a cute monkey chasing a banana in front of it, a candy dispenser featuring a clown stuffing candy into a tall top hat, and a nutcracker featuring a strongman carrying a gold barbell on his head. Additionally, the first 100 customers to spend 10,800 yen or more during the event will receive a free tote bag.
