Seiko Instruments Inc. will release a new series designed by Dutch product designer Marcel Wanders in mid-April as part of the watch collection of Italian kitchenware brand Alessi.

The "AL2700" series embodies the concept of Wanders' "DRESSED" design series, which includes tableware and other items, "bringing out inner charm like a beautiful dress." The front design is simple and modern, while the back cover features the decorative baroque pattern that is symbolic of the "DRESSED" series. A total of eight models will be available in two sizes, four models each for men and boys. Prices range from 16,800 yen to 24,150 yen.

The Alessi watch collection has been designed by architects and product designers associated with Alessi. Wanders was born in 1963. His signature work, the Knotted Chair, came into the limelight in 1996, and he was appointed art director of the design brand moooi in 2000. He has been active in a wide range of fields, working on interior and architectural designs and serving as a judge for design awards.
