The Champagne festival "NOEL A LA MODE" will be held from November 22nd to 28th in the 6th floor event hall and 7th floor banquet room of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
Now in its 14th year, this event is worthy of being Japan's largest champagne festival, with approximately 80 brands participating and approximately 40 winemakers and related parties attending to showcase their best cuvées. Mitsukoshi Isetan buyers travel to France to taste and compare carefully selected champagnes from over 3,000 houses scattered throughout the villages of the Champagne region. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
In addition, the 7th floor banquet room will have an eat-in corner where you can enjoy the perfect pairing of champagne and food. Guests can enjoy a special pairing plate, featuring both ingredients and cooking methods, designed by Chef Shinya Hotta of Toritsu Daigaku Chouette to complement each of the rare bottles: Dom Pérignon P2 1998, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage Collection 2004, and Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 1999 (limited to 50 items per day).
This lineup was made possible by asking major, well-known producers to offer highly exclusive and rare products aimed at Japanese champagne fans, and by actively reaching out to small-scale champagne makers known as "récoltant-manipulants," who focus on small-scale production and careful vineyard management. The lineup includes a special limited-edition of nine bottles: "Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie 1981" (white sparkling wine, 750ml, ¥75,600); and "Champagne Monial Cuvée Luxe Rosé Demi-Sec" (rosé sparkling wine, 750ml, ¥7,020), a rosé exclusive to Isetan Mitsukoshi, which was developed through the close involvement of producer Agnès Caron and our buyers from the planning stage. "We're confident that we've gathered a selection of items that will satisfy all Champagne lovers in Japan. We believe you'll be able to experience the rich charm of Champagne even more than if you actually went to France," says the buyer. With Christmas, year-end parties, and home parties on the rise, why not try searching for your favorite champagne at "Noël à la Mode"?
