Bvlgari opens its first jewelry school, Scuola Bvlgari, to train the next generation of artisans

Aug 7, 2025
Bvlgari, a master of high jewelry, is embarking on a new challenge. In September 2025, the company will open its first jewelry school, Scuola Bvlgari, within Manifattura Bvlgari, the world's largest single-brand jewelry production facility. Established in partnership with the Italian design school TADS (Tarì Design School), the school is attracting attention as an open school open to anyone.

The school, where you can learn goldsmithing and gem-setting techniques systematically from the basics, is located in the heart of Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza, Piedmont, northern Italy. This vast 33,000-square-meter site is at the forefront of modern high jewelry production, where innovation, traditional techniques, and sustainability coexist.

The school offers two majors: goldsmithing and gem setting. The first classes, starting in September 2025, will run weekdays from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and no prior experience is required for either course. Anyone with a high school diploma, manual dexterity, and a passion for jewelry is welcome.

  • Goldsmithing Course (until April 2027): 1,680 hours in total
Covers the full range of metalworking techniques, including bending, milling, and lost-wax casting.
  • Gemstone Setting Course (expected completion date: June 2026): 600 hours in total
Learn setting techniques such as pavé and bezels, along with gemological theory.

All instruction is provided by experts, including active master craftsmen, gemologists, and 3D designers, in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, allowing you to experience the realities of jewelry making firsthand.

A new Bvlgari vision supporting the succession of skills and diversity
This initiative follows on from the in-house training program, the Bvlgari Jewelry Academy, established in 2017, and will serve as a pillar for nurturing the next generation, opening its doors to a wider range of people. Rooted in Valenza, the historic goldsmith town, Bvlgari is committed to the succession and development of "Made in Italy" excellence.

The school also promotes the social inclusion of asylum seekers and refugees through its collaboration with refugee programs. It offers cultural mediation, specialized training, and one-on-one craftsmanship. It received UNHCR certification in June 2025.

Before a piece of jewelry reaches your hands, countless handcrafted tasks and techniques are passed down. Founded by Bulgari, Scuola Bulgari serves as a base for protecting and nurturing this "invisible value," demonstrating the brand's commitment to craftsmanship more clearly and powerfully.
