Keio Department Store Co., Ltd. will be holding an "Autumn Wine Fair" at its Shinjuku branch from October 1st to 14th. In addition to the wines typically sold in the liquor section, the fair will feature rare brands from France and Italy, as well as Uruguay and Japan, which have recently attracted attention. A total of approximately 200 wines will be available over the two-week period, ranging from everyday wines, which are seeing increased demand due to the rise in at-home drinking, to bottles perfect for special occasions.

■ Japanese Wine: A Must-See for Wine Enthusiasts. Daily Sales Events
While Japanese wine has a relatively short history compared to other countries, it has gained significant acclaim in recent years, and there are many renowned winemakers. In recent years, the Shinjuku store has been focusing on expanding its selection of Japanese wines, and by dealing directly with domestic wineries, it currently stocks around 70 types of wine. This fair's daily sales feature will feature a different winery each day, from 12 wineries across the country, including Hokkaido, Yamanashi, and Oita. They will be selling rare brands that aren't usually available in Tokyo, and producers from around half of the wineries will also be in attendance. You'll be able to hear directly from the wine producers, just like traveling around the country, without leaving Shinjuku.
