Valentino has unveiled its 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection. This season, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were inspired by unconventional women, including artists Giosetta Fioroni, Carol Rama, and Carla Accardi.
The collection began with leather capes and knitwear adorned with colorful circles. Beautifully tailored pieces, typical of a couture house, were introduced, including single-piece dresses and tops and dresses with minimalist patterns. The style was reminiscent of the 1960s and 1970s. Skirts were high-waisted and either mini or below the knee.
Beautiful, eye-catching butterfly and floral patterns were depicted in jacquard, lace embroidery, sequins, and prints, and were transformed into capes, dresses, and more. The Icon Rockstud has become smaller and rounded, evolving into Mini Rockstud, which is adorned with geometric patterned leather capes and other items.
The second half of the show ended with a series of elegant dresses embroidered with flowers, stars and suns on tulle.
