Michael Kors opens largest store in China in Shanghai

Mar 16, 2014

Michael Kors has opened its first flagship store in the Kerry Center shopping mall in Shanghai's Jing'an district. At approximately 558 square meters, it's the brand's largest store in China. The façade, designed in collaboration with New York architecture firm KPF, is crafted from a special material and features luminous screens and lattices, casting a unique light throughout the store. Giant screens surround the entrances on both the first and second floors, projecting footage of fashion shows, events, and live performances. The interior embodies the brand's unique aesthetic. A 9-meter mirrored wall, featuring the brand's jacquard pattern, surrounds the giant screen. Stainless steel shelving, white marble floors, MacArthur wood, and zebra skin accents complete the design. Designer Michael Kors commented, "This is a sophisticated area where stylish people gather, so I wanted to design a glamorous and modern store." The first floor offers men's accessories, women's shoes and handbags from Michael Kors and its second line, MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS. Watches, jewelry and eyewear are also available. The second floor, an open space, is stocked with clothing from the collection lines Michael Kors and MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS.
