
Fashion designer Eri Utsugi was born on March 20, 1966, in Tokyo. Influenced by her mother, she began sewing at a young age. After graduating from Joshibi Junior College of Art and Design in 1986, she enrolled in Esmod Japon Tokyo. After completing her first year, she traveled to France and studied at Studio Berçot in Paris. After returning to Japan, she gained experience as a designer at several companies, including HUIT, before joining BIGI in 2000. In 2001, she launched her own brand, "FRAPBOIS," offering relaxed wear based on the concept of "childish clothing." She served as a featured designer for Tokyo Collection, but left BIGI in 2005 and sold the brand. In September of the same year, she joined A-net and launched the brand "mercibeaucoup,". Every season, she holds a customer event called "Merci Festival" to unveil her collection.
