Globe-Trotter has announced its limited-edition 2014 Spring/Summer collection, "Voyage," in collaboration with British brand Liberty. The collection will be available from April 1st at Vulcanize London Isetan Shinjuku, and at the Globe-Trotter shops in Ginza Mitsukoshi and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Stores. The collaboration between the two companies began in 2004, and this marks the 10th collection. The body of the bag is Liberty's vibrant Liberty Purple, and the lining is decorated with Liberty's peacock feathers, which were designed in the late 19th century during Globe-Trotter's founding.
There are six sizes available: Mini Utility Case (9 inches/95,000 yen), Vanity Case (13 inches/110,000 yen), Trolley Case (18 inches/180,000 yen, 21 inches/200,000 yen, 26 inches/235,000 yen), and Extra Deep Suitcase (30 inches/240,000 yen). Brown is also available as a Japan-exclusive color.
The 26-inch trolley case from the same series is currently on sale at Isetan Mitsukoshi ahead of its simultaneous release in April.
Globe-Trotter was founded in the UK in 1897. Its products, made from a durable yet lightweight material called Vulcan Fiber, are still handmade one by one by artisans using techniques that are almost identical to those used when the company was founded.
