DRIES VAN NOTEN has unveiled its 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter women's collection. Curves and flowers are its signature motifs. Blue, pink, orange, and green are combined with black and gray. The floral prints are given a three-dimensional effect by hand-painting flowers in silver foil. Optical motifs by British painter Bridget Riley are also layered, creating an organic and inorganic look. The silhouettes are oversized, with dropped shoulders and wide sleeves for tops. Three-quarter length bottoms are the norm. Skirts are flared, with just the right amount of flow. Combined with the curved prints, they create a floating feeling. Casual pieces featuring piping and zippers are mixed into the curvaceous, feminine atmosphere. The contradictory elements come together seamlessly.
