The ICC Kids Program is a summer vacation event for children. Let's go exploring through the filter of awareness!

Jul 15, 2016

From July 16th to August 31st, the NTT InterCommunication Center, a cultural facility operated by NTT East, will host the "ICC Kids Program 2016: Awareness Filter: Explore the Elements of Media Art," an event enjoyable for children and adults alike. This summer vacation children's event, held since 2006, aims to foster children's curiosity and imagination by introducing them to the latest media art. In addition to exhibits, the event will also feature artist talks, workshops, and gallery tours. The exhibits include works that remind us of the natural things we do every day, such as "seeing sound" and "listening to movement," a robot that can be controlled by moving around on a tablet in the same way as a human finger, knitting that finds merit in what appears to be a failure, a turntable that allows visitors to explore and imagine mechanisms for creating animations, and a work that demonstrates how computers perform complex tasks through a combination of simple movements. This event will help visitors realize that even seemingly mysterious works are often inspired by everyday occurrences.
