On June 22nd, Barnabe Hardy's Carven men's collection was presented at the Nikki Diana Marquardt gallery in the Marais district, facing Place des Vosges. Although it wasn't a show, it was more of a performance show, with ballet dancers performing dynamic dance moves using monochrome rubber bands placed in the center of the runway. The collection, inspired by the image of "looking up at the sky and viewing the Earth from above," drew on images of hot air balloons, bird feathers, and air balloons, and used South American colors and motifs inspired by travel. The contour motif, inspired by the process of making maps, was also striking. Feather motifs printed on fine-gauge knitwear are linked to the feather headdresses of South American Indians, creating an exquisite connection between the two. The graphic pixel series will continue to be featured, and will be positioned as a future brand icon. The collection includes a reversible jacket made of checked seersucker material, a neon-colored blouson with a flocked finish, a coat made of nylon parachute material, and a printed shirt with a graphic bandana motif - all of these pieces are light and have a relaxed silhouette that does not constrict the body. The collection is made up of sporty items that are suitable for intense movement.
While casual and realistic, the collection also celebrates the graphic and artistic side that is characteristic of Bernabé Hardy.
