For Women's Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, fashion is a vector for transformation. For her Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection, she sought to reinterpret memories and gestures associated with Dior's heritage by engaging in a multifaceted dialogue with fashion history. The intention of this effort is to demonstrate how clothing functions as a statement of cultural, aesthetic, and social codes. Embracing the body and contemporary desires, moments shape the creations in a continuous interplay of inspiration.

Each collection is a fantasy construction, a project, a realization, an invitation to use fashion to be yourself. Clothing, therefore, is a repertoire of possibilities. The white shirt, which Maria Grazia Chiuri considers a fundamental element of a wardrobe free from gender stereotypes, enters into dialogue with silhouettes conceived by Gianfranco Ferré. The architect and former Creative Director of Dior was a key source of inspiration for this collection.

This wardrobe of metamorphosis features a collar-shaped ruffle that can be attached or detached as desired. Reflecting our perception of ourselves, this transformative element evolves from the ruffled collar worn by the eponymous protagonist in Virginia Woolf's novel "Orlando," and is timeless and genre-agnostic. Like Robert Wilson's visual direction of the models in a play, the world mutates, shifting from dark to light, highlighting scene changes. There are swings, prehistoric birds, rocks, craters, and finally, icebergs.

Various inspirations from Dior's collections interact to create a map, and the "J'Adore Dior" T-shirt, designed by John Galliano, is also reissued. Elsewhere, cutouts and appliqué embroidery make a comeback, contrasting with technical jackets. Like a vanished crinoline, black velvet ribbons adorned with baroque pearls bring texture to skirts and dresses.

The sheer finish of shirts, synonymous with lightness, contrasts with the matte black felt of structured coats that hug the body. Rounded shoulders shape the silhouette, and masculine jackets are teamed with bustiers. The tailcoat also makes a comeback, featuring a lace collar and contrasting gloss and matte, black and white. Practical pieces like raincoats become part of the ensemble, bringing a touch of light to everyday life that returns to the essence of Dior's history.

An ode to femininity, exploring stories of fashion and its transgressions. Envisioning the future by weaving elements evocative of the past, closer than ever to today's wardrobes.
