Issey Miyake releases image video for its 2016 Fall/Winter collection, showcasing the three-dimensional movement of its "Optical" 3D fabric.

Jul 5, 2016

On July 5th, ISSEY MIYAKE released a promotional video for its Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The video was shot by London-based photographer Jacob Sutton. Focusing on the "Optical" pieces from the "BEYOND"-themed Fall/Winter 2016 collection, unveiled in March, Jacob Sutton used six cameras and one slow-motion camera to capture the visuals. The video featured a simple striped pattern woven into a square piece of fabric, then compressed into curves using the "3D Steam Stretch" technique. Gold Panda provided the soundtrack. Regarding the video, Jacob Sutton said, "I wanted to give a more realistic feel to the movement of the 3D fabric. The contrast between stop-motion photography and slow-motion video portrays a relationship between the body and clothing that cannot be fully conveyed through photography alone."
