Homme Plisse Issey Miyake's first standalone store opens in Daikanyama! Interior design by Naoto Fukasawa

May 31, 2016

On June 11th, HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE will open a new store, HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE / DAIKANYAMA (19-8 Sarugakucho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, T2 Building A), in Daikanyama, Tokyo.

The store will be the brand's first standalone street-level store. It is a two-story building with 49.21 square meters of shop space on the first floor and 45.52 square meters on the second.

The interior design was handled by Naoto Fukasawa. Fukasawa explains the concept, saying, "The trapezoidal concrete box-like building has no beams. So we used thin, wide beams to divide the space above eye level, and hung the clothes neatly below. It feels as if the HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE clothes are floating in the space." Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is a brand launched in November 2013 for modern men. It proposes a new style of everyday wear, with key features being light, comfortable to wear, easy to maintain and portable.
