Issey Miyake Parfum's new release for L'Eau d'Issey: A story of water woven from a single pure drop

Jun 10, 2016

On July 27th, ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS will release its new fragrance, "L'EAU D'ISSEY PURE Eau de Parfum" (30ml 8,300 yen, 50ml 12,100 yen, 90ml 14,300 yen). Characterized by a rich floral bouquet, this fragrance breathes new life into "L'EAU D'ISSEY," a perfume launched in 1992 with the concept of pure, fresh water. By combining ambergris with Maritima, a patented ingredient from IFF that evokes the scent of sea breeze, a new story of water is woven. In the top notes, Maritima evokes pure water, while the mineral and animalic ambergris brings a sensual yet relaxing nuance. The floral bouquet sparkles as if floating on a vast ocean, resonating with pure lily of the valley and gorgeous orange blossom. The heart notes burst with freshly picked damask rose essence and jasmine like fluttering petals, and the final note is captivatingly captivating with the musky, woody IFF-patented ingredient, cashmeran. The bottle design, like that of L'Eau d'Issey, features an iconic slender conical silhouette. Designer Todd Bracher commented, "The simplest image of water is a single drop of water. So, this single drop symbolizes this perfume and became the bottle."
