Celebrating its 25th anniversary, TOKUKO Premiere Vol (TOKUKO1erVOL) held its 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection show at Ebisu Garden Hall on March 26th. Designer Tokuko Maeda, the brand's theme was "VIVE LA FRANCE (Love France)." Each season, the brand releases a collection themed around a country. To commemorate this anniversary, this season's designs were inspired by Maeda's leisurely and enjoyable travels around France, including Alsace, the home of white wine, Lyon, France's second largest city, Nancy, and Provence. The collection kicked off with a traditional folklore style from the Alsace region. The collection's 25th anniversary print featured motifs of famous French landmarks, an intarsia trico design featuring French wine bottles adorned with colorful flowers, and a design that expressed the "VIVE LA FRANCE" theme in the French flag's tricolor. The collection embodied the simplicity of folklore and the sophisticated atmosphere of Paris. Along with the unique prints, techniques such as embroidery and jacquard are also key features.
