HIROKO KOSHINO presented its 2013-2014 Autumn/Winter collection at Ebisu The Garden Hall on March 21st. Designer Hiroko Koshino.
This season's theme was "Memories of Flowers." The collection kicked off with a series of long, sleeveless dresses featuring large watercolor floral silhouettes on the front. The collection utilized cutting-edge print and pattern techniques to create architectural forms, such as the three-dimensional, rounded shapes of jackets and skirts, and gathered sleeves with petal reliefs, creating a futuristic feel. The collection moved from a monochrome floral series to a colorful collection. Hiroko's high-end world continues with vivid styling, combining pattern on pattern, primary color on primary color, and a variety of material ideas and techniques. The finale was a series of metallic-print dresses.
Hiroko Koshino, who has her own gallery in Ginza and is actively exhibiting her paintings and calligraphy as a "new artist," is a highly sought-after artist. The show itself is a fantastical, solid collection that gives the impression of a story that blossoms and decays.
