A limited-edition collection designed by Jason Wu for Japanese women will be released in June at select shops nationwide and department stores such as Matsuya Ginza.
This project began in response to a request from Japanese importer Sanki Shoji, who said, "Imported brand clothes sometimes have silhouettes that don't quite fit Japanese women, so I'd like something made specifically for them." Jason personally selected the textiles, using black and pink polka dot print fabric, black lace, and tweed. The waist position and sleeve length have also been adjusted.
The product lineup is centered around classic items that are popular in Japan. The tops include three styles (priced from 98,000 yen to 138,000 yen): the draped blouse "PRATIMA," the lace blouse "SADIA," and the long-sleeved T-shirt "WAX." The skirts are an A-line skirt called "SHIRA," a "BANOU" skirt with a flared back, and a pleated skirt called "SACHI" with a cocoon silhouette (priced from 80,000 to 130,000 yen). The chiffon dress "OKAL" (180,000 yen) features a black and pink flower pot design.
