Hi TAILOR (https://www.hi-tailor.jp/), a custom order service for business wear offered by Isetan Mitsukoshi, will launch a denim suit project on the support purchasing service Makuake on August 28, 2020.

This project is based on the concept of "one piece that fits any work style or lifestyle," and will feature custom-made denim suits and shirts exclusively on Makuake. Featuring the traditional, subdued colors of denim and a smart silhouette that leverages Isetan Mitsukoshi's knowledge, these items can be worn as a set or as a jacket and pants on their own for added style.


Hi TAILOR is a fully online custom order service. Launched in October 2019, this service aimed to simplify the process of selecting business wear, eliminating the high barrier to entry and the hassle of visiting a store. Size measurements are taken automatically, eliminating manual intervention. After selecting a design online, all you need to do is submit two photos, enter your height and weight, and select a fit. With a smartphone, you can order at any time without visiting a store.

[Makuake Exclusive Product Overview]


This Makuake exclusive product is the first from Hi TAILOR to feature denim fabric. While denim is often avoided as a suit material due to its tendency to fade and change over time, this product features a specially processed, durable fabric that is resistant to sweat, rain, and abrasion. Even though the denim is made of denim, it's not too casual, and to achieve a neat silhouette, it's crafted based on business suit patterns. Under the supervision of Enrico Mezzadori, director of a world-renowned dress clothing brand, we pursued a solid look and comfortable fit. This suit is versatile and can be worn in a wide range of situations, from business attire with a shirt and tie to casual styles with a T-shirt and sneakers.

[Key Points of Hi TAILOR's Custom-Made Denim Suits]


1. We use denim fabric that is "fade-resistant" thanks to a combination of handwork and technology. Its toughness makes it suitable for any weather or occasion.

The fabric is selected from denim from Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, a historic denim-producing region in Japan. It is woven using traditional denim manufacturing methods that have been preserved since ancient times. This product uses reactive-dyed denim, which is resistant to fading and color transfer. It is considered the most durable cotton dye.


2. Modern, sharp, and on-trend patterns. A neat silhouette that creates a refined impression with any outfit.

Both the suit and shirt were developed based on the designs of business suits and dress shirts. Hi TAILOR suits are overseen by Enrico Mezzadori, and shirts by Fabio Borrelli. With a commitment to a beautiful silhouette inherited from Isetan Mitsukoshi, this item exudes a refined impression without being too casual.


3. Experience a simple custom order experience with automatic measurements based on two photos and customization based on standard designs and specifications.

Since this is a custom order, your garment will be tailored to your exact measurements, down to the finest details such as shoulder width, sleeve length, waist, and inseam. Hi TAILOR offers a standard set of designs that complement denim, allowing you to enjoy custom orders regardless of your level of expertise. You can also change the parts to your liking.

Denim originated in 19th century America, where it was worn as workwear by gold miners during the Gold Rush.
