The 7th TOKYO COFFEE FESTIVAL will be held for two days only, on June 24th and 25th, in the courtyard of the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo. Launched in the fall of 2015, this event encourages people to consider the future of coffee and tea culture. This seventh edition, themed "Coffee Sociology," will bring together approximately 70 roasters, coffee shops, coffee accompaniments, bookstores, and florists from Japan and overseas. Among the exhibitors will be Coffee Supreme, a specialty coffee roaster founded in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1993. Kamishimori's "Boca Nuts," a coffee accompaniment made with unsolidified "Boca" syrup and homemade roasted nuts, is a must-try. The customary tasting will be held every time, and each drink will be served in a 90ml mini cup. The porcelain cups, produced in cooperation with KINTO and featuring illustrations by illustrator Yunosuke, improve the palate and allow you to enjoy the coffee's delicate flavor even more, and also make a great souvenir. A set of four cups for a tasting test is priced at 1,500 yen (tax included).
After the first day of the event on the 24th, a Coffee Lounge titled "Brewer's Talk" (participation fee: 4,000 yen (tax included)) will be held, featuring guests such as editor Masanobu Sugatsuke, and people involved in various brewing processes. Also, on the 25th, a Coffee Talk (participation fee: 2,000 yen (tax included) / tickets available for advance purchase on the official website) will be held, titled "Why do we drink coffee? ~Let's talk about coffee with baristas active around the world~".
Exhibitors include REC COFFEE, hazeru coffee, Cafe FUJINUMA, Terra Coffee, TSUKIMI-COFFEE, SHIRAHAMA COFFEE STAND, Roaster Cafe Aranchart, Kamigashi Mori, Nogeyama Curry Shokudo, bob's ribs, Siam Chan, & Associates Co., Ltd., and ORIGAMI. Five stores will also be participating from overseas, including Coffee Supreme, a coffee roaster from New Zealand. In addition, as a first for the event, recommended stores will be solicited via social media, and several stores from these are scheduled to participate.
