World Co., Ltd. is collaborating with six local universities and vocational schools to launch the "Student Collaboration SPACE ART 2013 SUMMER" industry-academia collaboration project at six of its "Fluxus" lifestyle stores, starting April 19th. This project is an evolution and expansion of the "World Industry-Academia Collaboration Art Room Project," which World has been running since 2008 for university and vocational school students studying fine arts and design. The original project served as a creative forum for motivated students to plan and run visual window presentations and workshops at "Fluxus." Now in its sixth year, the project has been renamed and evolved into a practical project that links with in-store merchandise calendars and fashion trends to drive store visits. The theme for this project is "Motif Typhoon," inspired by the idea of incorporating patterns into clothing. Students are free to create store interiors based on this theme, taking into account the store's concept, target audience, costs, and delivery schedule. The first project is currently underway at "Fluxus Tsurumi Ryokuchi," which opened on April 19th. The Osaka Municipal Design Education Institute has decorated the interior with floral and balloon motifs, evoking a colorful and lively festival celebrating the store's opening. From April to June, Nagoya University of Arts will host "Fluxus Nagoya," Kyoto University of Art and Design will host "Fluxus Itami," and Kyushu University will host "Fluxus Fukuoka." During the summer vacation, Tokyo University of the Arts will host "Fluxus Musashimurayama," and Hijiyama University will host "Fluxus Hiroshima." World hopes to provide students with a valuable opportunity to present their ideas while also imparting the professional know-how of its employees, fostering the development of the next generation of talent. The company also aims to deepen communication with the local community through its entertainment-focused stores.
