The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square will host the summer-only "7th Annual Jambo FARM!! RED BRICK Paradise" from July 29th to August 27th. This popular Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse event, which changes the theme each year and allows visitors to experience an overseas resort atmosphere without leaving Yokohama, attracted 770,000 visitors last year. This year's theme is "Africa," a key fashion trend for summer 2017, and the colors, patterns, and animal motifs will create a resort-like atmosphere. As with last year, the design will be handled by SOLSO, a company specializing in landscaping for shops and commercial facilities. The venue will feature shady green spaces and waterfronts, creating a calming and cool atmosphere amid the sun-drenched midsummer. The venue will feature sculptures of savanna animals such as giraffes, hippos, and elephants, as well as African plants not native to Japan and desert landscapes, creating a truly African-inspired world. Traditional African percussion music will also be played, further enhancing the scorching heat of this paradise.
Furthermore, the food lineup includes "Roast Crocodile" from Kenya (1 crocodile for 1,200 yen including tax / 2 crocodiles for 2,200 yen including tax), which is crocodile legs roasted with the African seasoning arissa; "Deep-fried Chicken with Muamba Sauce" (900 yen including tax), which is deep-fried chicken topped with a Gabonese stew; and "Mushikaki with Summer Vegetables" (800 yen including tax), a curry-flavored skewer dish from Rwanda. You can enjoy rare dishes that are hard to find in Japan. Drinks include "Frozen Yogurt Baobab" (800 yen including tax), a frozen drink made with baobab, a fruit known in Madagascar as a superfruit and health food; "Baobab Smoothie" (850 yen including tax), which also uses baobab and combines it with berries; and "Two-Tone Shake (Vanilla & Berry)" (800 yen including tax), a smooth vanilla and berry shake mixed with fresh fruit. Also, for three days from July 21st to 23rd, as part of the museum's 15th anniversary project, "Frame Fountain 2017," a new type of fountain show, will be held, featuring flames streaming down a fountain over five meters high and lit with LEDs (running for approximately five minutes every 15 minutes from 6:30 PM to 8:45 PM each day).
