The second store of EN ROUTE, a new brand debuted by United Arrows last September, opened on April 24th on the first floor of the Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center Terrace Market (1-14-1 Tamagawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), adjacent to Futako Tamagawa Station. Based on the concept of "Wearable Tokyo," EN ROUTE is a fashion brand aimed at creative urbanites who "enjoy fashion and sports in the same way." The brand offers two styles of items: simple, modern "city casual wear" and contemporary "city running wear." Following its first store, which opened as a street-level store in Ginza, the second store in Futako Tamagawa marks the brand's first store in a shopping center. The store, measuring 330 square meters and with a five-meter ceiling, features an industrial studio-inspired interior, designed by Schemata Architects, led by Jo Nagasaka. Though the store is a single-floor structure, the interior is playful, featuring a two-story stockroom set up like a scaffolding tower in the center. To encourage local residents and office workers to incorporate running into their lifestyles, the store also features a "Running Station" with lockers and showers, just like the Ginza store (usage fee: 700 yen per session). While Unroute is known as a select shop, select items account for only about 40% of the total, with original items accounting for 60%. Creative Director Masachika Numata commented, "Unroute has always been particularly committed to developing 'original collections.' While original items from existing select shops tend to be basic, we differentiate ourselves by creating original designs that clearly express the brand's direction." Also, in mid-May, a capsule collection from "IRON MEDAL ATHLETICS," a brand founded by designer Yoshio Kubo in 2004, will be released exclusively at the Futakotamagawa store. Three types of pants and four types of T-shirts will be available as unisex running wear.
The store is open from 10:00 to 21:00. The Running Station is open from 8:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, and from 8:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (last reservations accepted one hour before closing).
