Kiehl's "Iris Root Lotion" boosts your skin's potential! Pre-released product is a huge hit, surpassing the Super Cream

Apr 30, 2015

Skincare brand Kiehl's will begin nationwide sales of its new toner, "Kiehl's Iris Root Essence Lotion" (200mL/4,900 yen), which aims to enhance the skin's natural functions, on May 1st. "Iris root" refers to the root of the iris plant, which has been used as a folk medicine since ancient times. Focusing on the basement membrane, which circulates moisture and nutrients between the epidermis and dermis, the lotion contains iris root extract, which strengthens the function of protein, the main component of the basement membrane, helping the skin maintain its health on its own. In addition, exfoliating ingredients remove dead skin, and moisturizing ingredient hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin, leading to healthy, beautiful skin.

According to Nihon L'Oréal, which sells Kiehl's, at the Isetan Shinjuku store and Hankyu Umeda Main Store, where the product was first released in April, the daily sales target was achieved in about 90 minutes, and at the Isetan Shinjuku store in particular, first-day sales were nearly double that of last year's hit product, "Super Cream." Kiehl's Retail Marketing Product Manager, Sanae Taguchi, said, "The secret to its popularity is that it has a thick yet smooth texture that blends easily into the skin, and is suitable for all skin types."
