The 88th Pitti Immagine Uomo, the men's fashion festival, will be held from June 16th to 19th. The guest designers, who are always a focus of attention, have been announced.
This year's special guest designer for men's wear is Moschino. Creative Director Jeremy Scott will hold his first men's fashion show in Italy since taking over. Regarding Moschino's selection, event CEO Raffaello Napoone commented, "He has a special sense of the times, and he mixes particularly delicate materials and fabrics, which is why he designs luxury goods. That's why we invited him."
Meanwhile, the guest designer for women's wear will be London-based young Canadian designer Thomas Tait. Tate is also the recipient of the 2014 LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize. Communications & Events Manager Lapo Cyanki said of Cerruti, "We love his consistency, sartorial skills, subversive silhouettes, and dry dedication to design. He's not afraid to experiment and push the boundaries."
In addition, the exhibition "Il Signor Nino" will be held as a tribute to Nino Cerruti, a central figure in Italian men's fashion. Various Cerruti fashion designs will be showcased as examples of contemporary elegance.
In addition, the Designer Project will introduce Carlo Brandelli, creative director of KILGOUR. Other events include Pitti Italics, a project supporting young designers, Guest Nation, and Who's On Next.
