The one-of-a-kind Fendi "Peekaboo" created by Fuyuko Matsui and Riko Takahashi

Apr 14, 2015

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of FENDI's arrival in Japan, FENDI is collaborating with Tokyo University of the Arts to launch the "FENDI Peekaboo Project," a charity project. The project features participants including Tokyo University of the Arts President Ryohei Miyata, actress Mao Inoue, fashion director Anna Dello Russo, contemporary artist Fuyuko Matsui, and artist Riko Takahashi. Each participant has created their own unique interpretation of FENDI's iconic Peekaboo bag. The resulting one-of-a-kind bags will be auctioned on the brand's official website starting on the 20th. All proceeds will be donated to Tokyo University of the Arts to support the development of the next generation in the art, design, and fashion industries. Regarding this project, Silvia Fendi commented, "As someone who grew up in a family that produces strong, pioneering women, I am thrilled that such iconic people, who are at the forefront of their respective fields, have agreed to participate in this project, which uses iconic Fendi bags." Meanwhile, Ryohei Miyata said, "Donating the profits earned from works created by Fendi and artists with mutual respect is not just a charity, but a project that only Tokyo University of the Arts can undertake. The participation of talented alumni such as Fuyuko Matsui and Michiko Takahashi will serve as a new avenue and teaching material for our students."
