Sanyo Shokai x Yasuhiro Mihara "Crestbridge" debuts [2015-16 Fall/Winter]

Apr 2, 2015

Sanyo Shokai held the debut show for its new brands, "BLUE LABEL CRESTBRIDGE" and "BLACK LABEL CRESTBRIDGE," which will be launched for the 2015-16 Fall/Winter season, on March 31st at Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Gaienmae, Tokyo.
These brands are the successors to the company's "Burberry Blue Label" and "Burberry Black Label," whose licensing agreements expire in June of this year. Yasuhiro Mihara serves as creative director.
An 80-meter long runway was set up in the concourse of Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium. The show kicked off with a live performance by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra in the background, and an audience of approximately 800 people gathered.
Items featured included double-breasted coats, jackets, trench coats, capes, shirts, socks, and more, showcasing a classic British style featuring the brand's new iconic check pattern. Layering items with different sizes of checkered patterns together, a checkered coat with a houndstooth dress, and checkered pants with a camouflage jacket created a classic yet edgy look.

Befitting a shoe designer himself, Mihara also showcased his signature styles, including vibrant short boots lavishly decorated with fur for women and men's shoes made entirely in Japan using lasts developed from scratch.

For the finale, all the models appeared in trench coats, eliciting a roar from the audience. This bold display of Sanyo Shokai's commitment to upholding its traditions was a bold statement.

Following the show, Mihara said, "We reconstructed the image of British longing and a sense of security, reinterpreting the traditions of our home country from a new perspective." It was a night that marked a new chapter in the history of the company, which has been passionate about craftsmanship since 1943.
