From July 17th, Onitsuka Tiger will release limited edition sneakers born from the collaboration announced at Valentino's 2020 Fall/Winter Men's Collection. In addition to the color variations announced at Valentino's 2020 Fall/Winter Men's Collection held in Paris on January 15th, there will also be limited edition colors available only in Japan.
This collaboration between Valentino and Onitsuka Tiger has resulted in a limited edition model in which Onitsuka Tiger's iconic model, the MEXICO 66™ SD, has been reinterpreted and designed by Valentino's creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. The bold Valentino V logo, printed individually by hand, sits atop the Onitsuka Tiger stripe on the outside of the upper. A special label featuring both brands' logos is featured on the tongue, created specifically for this collaboration. The insole also features both brands' logos. This model features a highly cushioned heel midsole and a unique material for durability and grip on the outer sole. The color variations unveiled at Valentino's Fall/Winter 2020 Paris Men's Collection include the basic "WHITE" seen on the runway, as well as the vibrant neon colors "SHOCKING ORANGE," "SAFETY YELLOW," and "HOT PINK." These four models will be available at select Valentino stores worldwide and the official online store. In Japan, they will be available at Valentino Ginza, Omotesando, Hankyu Umeda, Hankyu Men's Osaka, Matsuzakaya Nagoya, Fukuoka Iwataya, and the official online store. Onitsuka Tiger will be offering the limited edition "WHITE/DIRECTOIRE BLUE" model in the brand's iconic "tricolor" at Onitsuka Tiger Omotesando, Ginza, and Namba stores, as well as the official online store. Additionally, a Japan-exclusive colorway, "WHITE/CLASSIC RED," will be available exclusively at Valentino Ginza, Omotesando, Hankyu Umeda, Hankyu Men's Osaka, Matsuzakaya Nagoya, Fukuoka Iwataya, the official online store, Onitsuka Tiger Omotesando, and the official online store. Proceeds from the Japan-exclusive colorway will be donated to Kids' Door, an NPO supporting families facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The product will be available from July 17th, priced at ¥58,000 (excluding tax) per colorway.
