[LOOK] Undercover 2021 Spring/Summer Men's Collection

Jul 15, 2020
UNDERCOVER, designed by Jun Takahashi, has announced its Spring/Summer 2021 men's collection.

The theme of this collection is “2020”.

Undercover's Spring/Summer 2021 Men's Collection was presented in 3D format, as the impact of COVID-19 made it difficult to present the collection in the traditional format at Paris Fashion Week.

This new approach, the "3D Lookbook," is now available on Undercover's official website (undercoverism.com), allowing users to rotate and move the models in the images to explore the entire collection in detail in 360 degrees, from the comfort of their own home or office.

COVID-19 has not only affected the way collections are presented, but also designer Jun Takahashi himself. Having begun work on his designs from home during the state of emergency, he says he has found some unexpected benefits. Below, a statement from the designer details the background to the collection, titled "2020."

"2020": In March, when the coronavirus began to wreak havoc, I started by brainstorming themes and ideas. During the self-isolation period in April, I completed all of my designs from home. I spent this period feeling the daily changes in the world, questioning my lifestyle and my approach to work, and experiencing major shifts in my thinking about many things. While the end of the pandemic remains a challenge, I'm sure everyone is experiencing the same major changes. This was my first time designing from home, and because I continued working with a hazy mind and the same old mindset, the finished product is completely different from the changes I've experienced within myself. I thought, "Isn't that a good thing, considering we're in the midst of a major change?" So, I decided to approach the designs in my own way. However, going forward, I intend to view the major changes that have occurred in the world and myself in a positive way, and forge ahead on my own path, uniquely UNDERCOVER, without reverting to my old ways. This is the start of a new life, and I'm going to make some new noise.
