UNDERCOVER has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 women's collection, titled "but beautiful 6." Following on from Fall/Winter 2024's "but beautiful 4...," the latest chapter in the series reimagines the beauty hidden in distortions and imperfections in the light, airy air of spring and summer.

A poetic reality inspired by "unfinished"
The concept that permeates this season's collection is "clothes made by someone purely out of intuition." Featuring asymmetrical lines, distorted patterns, exposed linings, and rough, hand-sewn stitching. The construction, slightly deviating from perfection, evokes the warmth of human hands, creating a poetic reality that is characteristic of Undercover. "What if someone who has never made clothes before made clothes using only their imagination?" The dresses and jackets born from this idea combine the softness of a handmade stuffed animal with an unsettling serenity. They are as if the fragments of a broken dream have been sewn together.

A Collaboration with French Artist Anne-Valérie Dupond
This collection was heavily inspired by the work of French artist Anne-Valérie Dupond. Dupond's stuffed animal-like sculptures, with their rough stitching and chaotic textures, exude a unique presence that is imbued with warmth and melancholy. A special piece handcrafted by Dupond himself was unveiled at the end of the show, providing a quiet yet impressive climax.

Real clothes that elevate the "beauty of distortion" into everyday life
Undercover transforms these distorted shapes not into mere art, but into real clothes that can be incorporated into everyday life. The rough-looking hand-sewn stitching and asymmetrical construction change appearance in response to the wearer's movements, portraying "imperfect beauty" in the everyday. This embodies Jun Takahashi's philosophy that "it is imperfection that is human and beautiful."

Depth created by collaboration
This season, UNDERCOVER has once again launched a variety of collaborations that support its unique worldview. Shoes are by BEAUTIFUL SHOES, bags by BRIGITTE TANAKA, eyewear by FACTORY900, and hats by KIJIMA TAKAYUKI. The craftsmanship of each team highlights the contrast between materials and structures, creating the multi-layered beauty of UNDERCOVER's signature style.

"but beautiful 6" is a collection that finds a new perfection by refusing to be complete. Distortions, rips, seams—all of these are part of our reality as we live today, and perhaps they are the very form of beauty.
