Yuushin Creation will open the Tokyo flagship store of its general merchandise store "ASOKO" along Meiji Dori in Harajuku (6-27-8 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) in late September. Business hours will be from 11:00 to 20:00.
The store opened its first store in Minamihorie, Osaka in March, and this will be its second location. The Harajuku store is approximately 330 square meters in size and will stock approximately 1,000 original items in a wide price range, from office and living room goods, kitchen goods, and outdoor items, ranging from 21 yen to 20,000 yen. It features a gallery-like display system where each item is displayed individually.
At the Minamihorie store, there were reportedly constant lines one month after opening. Currently, an average of 50,000 people visit the store each month. The Harajuku store aims to attract 1 million visitors per year. Popular items in Osaka include coasters, a set of six puzzle coasters that can be used as plate mats (105 yen), and animal-shaped hooks (six types in total, 315 yen each). The business plans to open 50 stores nationwide over the next three years.
Around the same time, Tiger Copenhagen, a Scandinavian-inspired "100 yen general store," is scheduled to open in Omotesando. As both stores are close to each other in Osaka, many customers tend to shop between them.
