World has signed a contract with Toray, which holds the sole sales agency rights for the German high-end outdoor brand Yeti, and will begin exclusive sales in Japan from this fall/winter season.
The target audience is men and women aged 25 to 35 who are fashion-conscious and seek authenticity in their lifestyles. The main price ranges are 47,000 to 76,000 yen for down jackets, 57,000 to 89,000 yen for down coats, and 29,000 to 39,000 yen for down vests. The products will be sold wholesale through World's directly managed stores under its store brand, select shops, and department stores.
Yeti was founded in Dresden, Germany in 1983, specializing in authentic mountaineering sleeping bags. Based on the concept of "Next to Nothing Technology," Nordisk offers a wide range of downwear for both mountain climbing and everyday use, including the professional-grade "Expedition" line, which is suitable for climbing Everest, and the ultra-lightweight, foldable "Companion" line, which combines fashion and functionality. In 2011, Nordisk won Germany's "Red Dot Design Award," one of the world's three major design awards, along with the "IF Design Award (International Forum Design)" and the "IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards)." Starting this fall/winter, Denmark's NORDISK has been selling high-quality downwear, mainly in Europe.
