From September 1, 2020, Hotel New Otani's three directly managed hotels (Tokyo, Makuhari, and Osaka) will be selling "Super Mont Blanc," which makes the most of the flavor of Japanese chestnuts, which are in season from autumn, at "Pâtisserie Satsuki."
20,000 units sold in 2019! The ultimate Japanese chestnut dessert crafted by our Grand Chef

"Super Mont Blanc" was born from Grand Chef Nakajima Shinsuke's strong desire to "let people enjoy the true flavor of Japanese chestnuts," and is made with a generous amount of Japanese chestnuts, which are in season in the fall. It has evolved every year to bring out new aspects and flavors of Japanese chestnuts, making it a fall tradition among sweets fans. Last year, it was reborn as a "delicious and healthy hybrid dessert," and cumulative sales nationwide exceeded 20,000 units. This year, we will be incorporating new ingredients to deliver even more deliciousness.
Enjoy seasonal Japanese chestnuts and a "once-in-a-lifetime taste"

The star of "Super Mont Blanc" is undoubtedly the carefully crafted "chestnut paste." Rather than narrowing it down to a specific type of Japanese chestnut, our chef patissier carefully selects those that are at their best in each season, such as "Rippei," known as the "miracle chestnut," "Ginyo," known as the "king of chestnuts," and the rare variety "Hitomaro." By minimizing the amount of fresh cream used, we have devised a clever way to maximize the original, rich flavor of the Japanese chestnuts, which are packed with the best taste of the season. The taste of Japanese chestnuts, which can only be experienced at that moment, is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The "Japanese ingredients" that bring out the flavor of Japanese chestnuts have also evolved!

The "Super Mont Blanc," which is about three times the size of a regular Mont Blanc, is packed with carefully selected ingredients that bring out the flavor of the chestnut paste. The center of the Mont Blanc is filled with candied Japanese chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, gently enveloped in just the right amount of sweet almond milk, and accented with Japanese ingredients such as brown sugar bean paste, soy milk white ganache, and Hingya salt from Aogashima, creating a truly "Japanese sweet."

In addition, this year there is a new collaboration with kuzumochi, made by Funabashi-ya, a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1805! The product is enhanced with the addition of "Matcha Soy Milk Kudzu," which combines kuzumochi-derived lactic acid bacteria "Kuzumochi Lactic Acid Bacteria(R)" with flavorful Kyoto Uji matcha, for a smooth texture, and "Caramel Sauce" made from wasanbon sugar, which brings out the sweetness of the Japanese chestnut.
