Anime and fashion-themed e-commerce site 2PMWORKS is releasing the second collaboration pumps between the anime series "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and shoe brand "Chakechoke." Following the release of three pumps featuring Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, and Mami Tomoe in June, two new models featuring Sayaka Miki and Kyoko Sakura (priced at ¥15,540 each) are now available. The pumps are inspired by the magical girls' transformed costumes, and the heels and toes feature "Soul Gems," a key element in the series. The Sayaka Miki model features a strap attached to the ankle, while the distinctive diagonal cut of Sayaka's costume is recreated with ruffled details. The Kyoko Sakura model features a red upper with white ruffles, inspired by her costume, and Kyoko's ribbon at the heel. Sizes range from 22.0 to 25.0 cm in 0.5 cm increments. Pre-orders will be accepted on the website from noon on the 26th through the 16th of next month, with shipments scheduled for early December.
"Puella Magi Madoka Magica," written by Gen Urobuchi and produced by Shaft, aired on television from January to March 2011. The series' charming character designs by Ume Aoki contrasted with its serious storyline and the fantastical battle scenes by the theater company Inu Curry, garnering attention and winning the Grand Prize in the Animation Division of the 15th Japan Media Arts Festival, the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Its popularity led to the development of a wide range of related merchandise, generating a market worth approximately 40 billion yen. It has also received international acclaim. A compilation film was released in October last year, and a new film, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion," will be released on October 26th of this year.
