The theme for yukata at Isetan Shinjuku is "SUMMER GROOVE." We propose yukata as part of your summer wardrobe. We will also be focusing on the traditional Japanese event of "Bon Odori."

Traditional shibori patterns are reproduced using the latest printing technology. The fabric is polyester. The light, matte feel reduces sticking to the skin and it is machine washable, making it comfortable to wear even in the hot summer.

Bon Odori is a summer tradition! With local Bon Odori festivals being canceled due to the impact of COVID-19, Isetan Shinjuku will be holding an online Bon Odori festival using Zoom. This time, an original Bon Odori dance has been created for Isetan Shinjuku, with choreography by Bon Ambassador(R) Tomohiko Sato and music by Haruhino with DODOWAKA. In addition to the original Bon Odori, dances will include Tokyo Ondo and Tanko Bushi. An original Bon Odori dance by "Bon Ambassador(R) Sato Tomohiko" and "Haruhino with DODOWAKA" has been born at Isetan Shinjuku!
This is an original Bon Odori dance with choreography by Bon Ambassador(R) Sato Tomohiko, set to the music of "Reiwa-UME no UTAGE-Ondo" by Haruhino with DODOWAKA. A 60-second version of the audio is available at https://www.dodowaka.com/isetan.
Haruhi with DODOWAKA: An artist who uses cutting-edge dance music to create the world of poetry from Japan's oldest collection of waka poetry, the Manyoshu. This song is a new type of ondo song that combines five waka poems from "Ume no Hana no Utage," the song that inspired the Reiwa era, with modern lyrics.
Sato Tomohiko: Affectionately known as "Dai-chan" due to his large physique, Sato Tomohiko is a former Bon Odorer who is now a Bon Ambassador(R) (Bon Odori Ambassador). He participates in over 100 Bon Odori festivals a year both in Japan and overseas. He spends over 300 days a year wearing yukata and Japanese clothing.
