Yokozawa Kotoha exhibition held at Kyoto Gallery 110. Thinking about regional fashion.

Aug 30, 2013

Gallery 110 in Kyoto, which opened last month, will be hosting a collection exhibition by Yokozawa Kotoha, "KEEP CALM," starting on the 31st of this month. Yokozawa graduated from Esmod Japon Tokyo in March of this year. Her graduation project will be on display. The starting point for this collection was a sweatshirt with the "YAMAHA" logo that Yokozawa's father wore when she was a child. Yokozawa thought her father looked "uncool," but he started buying clothes at a local Uniqlo store and gradually became more fashionable. Feeling lonely for her father, Yokozawa recreated the sweatshirt from a family photograph. The pattern was created by Takase Megumi. Gallery 110 will focus on Yokozawa's works, inspired by the fashion phenomena occurring in various regions of Japan, as a 21st-century embodiment of fashion. A designer talk will be held from 5:15pm on the first day of the event, followed by a joint opening party to celebrate the opening of the select shop "Kotobato Fuku" from 6pm.
