Louis Vuitton has added a new fragrance to its fragrance collection, "Nuit de Feu." It will be available in Japan from July 2nd.

Following "Ombre Nomade" and "Les Sable Roses," Louis Vuitton has now unveiled a new fragrance, "Nuit de Feu," paying homage to the fascinating and inspiring scent culture of the Middle East.
The setting that evokes the image of this new fragrance is the Middle Eastern desert. In this chapter of Louis Vuitton fragrances, the desert, which also served as the setting for the previous two creations, represents a new landscape of harmony that elevates the Maison's Middle Eastern journey into a true fragrance collection.
Like incense burned daily to the gods,

Like the smoke of incense, the origin of fragrance, that connects humans to the gods. Like the incense burned daily to the gods, the new fragrance "Nuit de Feu" emanates an eternal fragrance from the skin.

Guided by the quest for excellence—the Louis Vuitton fragrance philosophy—and inspired by the olfactory heritage of the Middle East, this collection features the highest quality ingredients. For "Nuit de Feu," the Maison's in-house Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, chose incense as the central element of the scent. He explains:

This time, three types of incense are used, allowing the fragrance's signature incense to unfold over time.
From the moment Nuit de Feu touches the skin, white incense from Somaliland, blended in the Maison's Grasse atelier, releases a dazzling freshness. Meanwhile, the core of the fragrance, extracted via fumigation, is black incense, defining the fragrance's warm, rich, and sensual character.
Soon after, resin incense unleashes its unique fragrance. Its woody, spicy and slightly lemony notes are brought to life by the softness of natural leather, a material emblematic of Louis Vuitton. This striking scent, reminiscent of the Maison's leather goods, is unique to the Maison, extracted from leather collected in the historic Asnières workshop, and plays a central role in this fragrance.
The three incense species are thus combined with a powerful musk accord that reveals the truth of Nuit de Feu.
Eau de Parfum "Nuit de Feu" (100ml / 45,000 yen)
Eau de Parfum "Nuit de Feu" (100ml / 45,000 yen)
This musk accord, which elevates and rounds out all other fragrance components, creates an extraordinary and stately final note that seems to be sent skyward. Ambrette seed, also known as "botanical musk," adds an earthy accent.
The unparalleled quality of Assamese oud (an ingredient used in every fragrance in this collection) adds a captivating woody depth to the finish. The oud lurks, tucked in the shadows of the trio of incense, leather, and musk. The woody notes imbue each trio with a mysterious aura. Perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud also shares this about the new fragrance: "This fragrance also has the effect of balancing the mind and body. It's a blend of essential fragrances that have shaped human civilization and are still used today throughout history. I felt that, especially in an increasingly virtual world, we needed a fragrance that would return us to nature and our shared history."
Eau de Parfum "Nuit de Fou" (200ml / 69,000 yen)

Like all of the House's fragrances, "Nuit de Fou" is also refillable in stores overseas. Louis Vuitton's philosophy is to provide products that can be enjoyed for a long time, and all of the House's stores are equipped with perfume fountains that can refill empty bottles in just seconds. This is both an environmental initiative and a tribute to Les Fontaines Parfumées in Grasse, where Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud's creative atelier is located. The facility where empty perfume bottles were refilled a century ago is still in place.

"For millennia, humans have connected with the gods through the intense, white smoke of incense. Incense returns us to the origins of perfume. The word "perfume" originally comes from the Latin "per fumare," meaning "through smoke." Incense is an exceptional note in the world of perfumery, as it is sacred across cultures and religions. It unites people, elevates the spirit, and speaks to the soul, whether in the Middle East, Asia, or Europe.
