The second AOYAMA SAKE FLEA, a sake tasting event bringing together select sake breweries, will be held in Aoyama, Tokyo on June 6th and 7th. Following the first event held in September last year, this year's event will see an increase in the number of participating breweries, with 10 selected breweries from across the country. New features include a bottled sake stand where you can take home your favorite sake, a snack booth by Nihonbashi's Teuchi Soba Muto, a Japanese sweets and sake pairing by Sendagi's Wagashi Kunpu, and a tempura and soba stand featuring ingredients from farms proudly displayed. At the Teuchi Soba Muto snack booth, a limited-time offer of "Sake Snacks - Two Glasses of Sake" (¥3,000) featuring seasonal vegetables from the TOM Natural Farm will be available on June 6th, with a limited run of 45 servings. Two glasses of sake are included with dishes such as "Early Summer Vegetable Appetizer," "Seasonal Grilled Fish," and "Soba Miso Yaki - Mixed with Condiments."
Additionally, Sendagi's Wagashi Kunpu is proposing pairings of Japanese sweets and sake. They offer pairings (1,000 yen) that combine "Senkin," a sake that pairs especially well with Japanese sweets, with Sendagi Kunpu's Japanese sweets. Also available (500 yen) are pairings where you can choose from several types of Japanese sweets usually served in the shop and choose the perfect sake to go with them. Both are limited to 50 per day.
Additionally, they are also selling sake tasting tickets (10 cups for 2,000 yen, 5 cups for 1,000 yen) that allow you to compare carefully selected sake from 10 different breweries. There will also be the usual craft food, beer, and miscellaneous goods stalls, making this an event where you can enjoy sake from various angles from morning to night.
