The Western confectionery brand "Henri Charpentier" will hold the grand opening of its flagship cafe, "Ginza Maison Henri Charpentier" (Ginza Henri) on April 10th. The address is the 1st floor and basement 1st floor of the Yonei Building, 2-8-20 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Founded in Ashiya in 1969, Henri Charpentier is a formal sweets brand primarily distributed through department stores. The store's signature baked confectionery, "financier," is so popular that it sells 23.66 million pieces annually, earning a Guinness World Record for the highest sales volume in the world. Ginza Henri will stand out from the 82 Henri Charpentier stores nationwide as a "showcase to promote the Henri Charpentier brand to the world."
The store is divided into three areas, with the theme of "a wonderland detached from everyday life." The cafe space "Salon de The" on the basement floor offers authentic desserts typically found only in restaurant courses, prepared right before your eyes in a cart-style demonstration. Here, you can enjoy the "Framboise Rose (1,574 yen)" (exclusive to Ginza Henri), a combination of moist strawberry macaroons and smooth cheese cream, and the "Tarte des Pamplemousses (1,667 yen)," a grapefruit and pistachio tart with rosemary sorbet. The dessert "Crêpes Suzette (1,482 yen)," a thin, hand-baked crepe paired with orange juice, allows you to experience the flambéing process right before your eyes. The "Boutique" retail space on the first floor offers baked goods such as financiers and madeleines, as well as a lineup of 20 colorful fresh cakes. The adjacent glass-walled confectionery workshop creates a visually appealing space. The store will be selling the Ginza Henri-exclusive "Ginza Honey Pie (8 slices for 1,500 yen / 16 slices for 3,000 yen)." This product, developed in collaboration with Ginza Honey to coincide with the store's opening, is made with 100% rare honey harvested from bees native to the Ginza area. Additionally, the first floor will feature a new bar space, "Bar Maison (Dessert Bar)," offering authentic desserts for adults made with plenty of liqueur, as well as champagne, wine, and whiskey. The bar will also feature a Ginza Henri-exclusive menu item: the "Cocktail Savarin (1,667 yen)," a homemade brioche garnished with fruit and flambéed with liqueur. The bar will be open until 11:00 PM, making it a great place to stop by after dinner in Ginza and enjoy a drink and dessert in a relaxing atmosphere. Each floor will also feature one private room. The staff will provide full support for special occasions such as proposals and anniversaries, including creating custom cakes to suit your needs.
