Club Med Ishigaki Island offers plenty of fun even after the sun goes down.
■A dress code that tickles your fashion savvy
At Club Med, a dress code is set every night, so just thinking about what you'll wear and what everyone else will be wearing gets you excited. The "dress code" isn't particularly formal; some days require a casual T-shirt, while others simply convey the idea with phrases like "clothes the color of the sun."
However, neither is mandatory, so if you don't have clothes that fit the code that day, just enjoy dressing up in your own style! In fact, don't worry if guests don't follow the dress code at all, as neither the GO nor the other guests will mind.
■The GO's dance and comedic show are the main entertainment of the evening
After getting dressed and enjoying dinner, we recommend enjoying the show that changes every night in the theater. With a wide lineup ranging from authentic pole dancing to the upbeat Okinawan dance show "Tida Cancan" and comedy skits, you'll never get bored, even if you go every day. What's more, the performers are familiar faces. Befriending one of the G.Os will make you want to cheer them on, and you'll be pumped to take photos during the performance!
In between Tida Cancan performances, G.O. Mizo, who teaches archery and trains at the gym during the day, supported his body with his powerful neck and used his chin to lift one object larger than his own body, one after another. He lifted a guitar, a bed, a boat, and even a beach umbrella. The incredible sight brought cheers from the audience.
When I asked Egyptian G.O. Mizo, "Why did you choose this job?", he replied with the famous line, "G.O. is not my job, it's my lifestyle." According to Mizo, this island relaxes the mind and body, bringing smiles and happiness. "If you return to your daily life refreshed and reborn as a new person, you will be able to move forward in life without being dwelled on the past," he declares. Mizo's philosophy seems to have made a great impression on the many guests who visit. "One time, a pregnant couple stayed here on their honeymoon, and they told me that they named their baby after me, 'Mizora.' It's because Club Med is a place where people from all over the world can connect with each other through smiles and hearts that you can have so many heart-warming experiences like this."
■An Evening of Cocktails by the Illuminated Pool
After the show, it's stylish to enjoy the bar, which is open until midnight. Located by the illuminated pool, the bar offers a variety of daily events, including bingo, karaoke, and mahjong. Of course, the key point of both events is that you can enjoy them together with the G.O.s. There's also all-you-can-drink alcohol, so having a conversation with your favorite G.O.s or other guests will be a great memory of your trip. If you happen to eat too much at dinner and want to work off your hunger, you can enjoy a night swim in the pool right in front of the bar. If you want to enjoy a relaxing evening, you can take your ordered drinks to the poolside and enjoy the night breeze. Even though it's all-inclusive, you can still get the full vacation vibe, so you'll fall asleep feeling luxurious.
