The "Kiki & Lala My Melody 40th Anniversary Cafe," a limited-time cafe marking the first collaboration between Sanrio characters Little Twin Stars, known affectionately as "Kiki & Lala," and the popular character My Melody, nicknamed "My Melody," will open on June 4th at "THE GUEST cafe & diner" on the 17th floor of Shibuya Parco PART.
When the "Kiki & Lala Cafe" opened in the same location last winter, it was so popular that there was a four-hour wait. This time, it will be celebrating the 40th anniversaries of both Kiki & Lala, who were born in December, and My Melody, who was born in January, with a "middle birthday" celebration.
The cafe will offer a cute and fancy original menu featuring the characters' faces as a motif. The lineup of food is so good you'll almost regret eating it, including colorful pink and blue curries (1,580 yen each, with original mugs), Sanrio's first Japanese food menu: vibrant temari sushi (1,380 yen), a rainbow-colored shaved ice parfait (980 yen, with balloons), and vibrant party plates (from 1,180 yen).
The drinks range is also rich, with a wide variety available, including the tropical "Kiki's Dreamy Soda" and "Lala's Sweet Soda" (780 yen each) with pineapple and nata de coco, the "My Melody's Strawberry Milk" (780 yen) with its strawberry topping and pastel pink that will tickle your girly heart, and the "Coffee Jelly Iced Latte - Original Keychain" (980 yen) with glittering sprinkles on the rim of the glass.
In addition, the takeout-only menu will feature "Fluffy Shortcake" (1,980 yen) and "Anniversary Donut" (980 yen), perfect as souvenirs or for home parties.
In addition, customers who have a birthday during their visit will receive a special bonus of a commemorative photo taken in a "birthday photo frame," a birthday card, and special merchandise.
Don't miss out on the shop located near the entrance, where many cafe-exclusive goods will be on sale, including a Kiki & Lala and My Melody stuffed toy set with an original birthday card (4,000 yen), iPhone 6 case (1,200 yen), tote bag (500 yen), and more.
