Warehouse Terrada is collaborating with washi paper artist Eriko Horiki to present an exhibition in its event space, exploring the seemingly contradictory themes of "exhibition" and "storage." From July 7th to 31st, the exhibition will feature the installation "Exhibition x Storage 'Prayer' ~Pray for Serenity~," featuring environmental musician Takashi Kokubo. The exhibition combines the high-quality storage techniques that Warehouse Terrada has cultivated over the 65 years since its founding with Eriko Horiki's delicate yet bold display techniques in washi paper sculpture. The two opposing techniques come together to create a new space that expresses tradition and innovation. Based on the theme of "Prayers Born from Washi," the exhibition will showcase a variety of washi paper sculptures created using Eriko Horiki's unique layering techniques, including a 10-meter-diameter light floor that emits a quiet, expansive light, and seven light gates made of washi paper woven with rainbow-colored threads. Furthermore, ambient music by Takashi Kokubo and a "Nature Mandala" production, which projects mandala-like images using natural colors and motifs, will be added to create an even more fantastical worldview of washi paper.
The installation is divided into two parts. The first part, from July 7th to 18th, will be themed "The Sky - The Light of Life," and the second part, from July 19th to 31st, will be themed "The Sea - The Water of Life."
