The third exhibition from the Louis Vuitton Museum's collection in Paris is themed around "Popism and Music"

May 27, 2015

The Fondation Louis Vuitton, a contemporary art museum in Paris, France, will hold its third exhibition of its collection starting June 3rd.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton's collection is divided into four themes: "Subjective Expressionism," "Contemplation," "Popism," and "Music/Sound." This exhibition will feature carefully selected works from the "Popism" and "Music/Sound" themes.

The "Popism" theme will focus on works that express artists' interest in the objects and images conveyed by media such as advertising, television, film, and the internet.

This exhibition will feature works by Gilbert and George, Andy Warhol, Bertrand Lavier, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The "Music/Sound" theme will feature environmental art, sound sculptures, and video works by Ulla von Brandenburg, Marina Abramović, John Cage, Pilar Albarracin, and Ziad Antar. Other exhibits include commissioned works by Cerith Wyn Evans and works by Thomas Schutte. A video work based on popular music will be screened in the first-floor exhibition room starting July 25th. This exhibition is in response to the "Keys to a Passion" exhibition (running until July 6th), which brings together renowned modern art works from renowned art museums around the world, based on the same four themes as the museum's collection.
