Pilgrim Surf + Supply Kyoto will be the second domestic store of Pilgrim Surf + Supply, the first select shop in Brooklyn, New York. The store will stock the Pilgrim Surf + Supply collection, which embodies the brand concept of a "dual life in nature and the city," as well as fashion and outdoor items selected from Japan and abroad.
The store will also host activities and events based on brand owner Chris Gentile's philosophy of "ART," "LIFE," "LEISURE," and "WORK." From the store's opening until July 5th, there will be an art show by TODD ST. JOHN, who is active in a wide range of creative endeavors, from illustration to graphic design and woodwork, and is also responsible for the Pilgrim Surf + Supply logo.
The store's interior, made primarily of white oak, features iconic stacking tables created by Mashiko-based artist Hideki Takayama, and the background music played through the McIntosh amplifiers and vintage Altec speakers will be limited to records, reflecting the brand's philosophy not only in the product selection and events, but also in the interior and acoustics.
