Tom Dixon opens first exclusive shop in Japan, offering one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that look like works of art

Jun 21, 2015

In July, interior brand Tom Dixon will open its first-ever Japan-only store in Aoyama, Tokyo (address: 2-1-13 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). Launched in 2002, Tom Dixon is an interior brand created by product designer Tom Dixon, who was awarded Designer of the Year at Maison & Objet, Europe's largest interior design fair. To date, Dixon has released a number of innovative products that resemble one-of-a-kind artworks, including his signature "S Chair," which is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and his unique mirror lighting series. Recent projects include commercial interiors and architectural design. In 2014, he oversaw the overall design of the Mondrian Hotel in central London, earning him acclaim in the architectural design industry. Tom Dixon himself was involved in producing the space for this first-of-its-kind store in Japan, and the brand's worldview is fully expressed inside the store. The product lineup includes a wide range of products, including signature pieces such as the Wingback Chair and Beat Light series, as well as lighting, chairs, and home accessories.
