Jaws Watch is back. The new Alsta arrives in Japan.

Jun 11, 2020

Alsta was a watch manufacturer founded in New York in 1946. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Alsta produced watches that combined precision and durability, primarily for men, and in the film "Jaws," Richard Dreyfuss wore an Alsta diver's watch called the Nautoscaph as Matt Hooper. However, in 1982, the "quartz crisis" caused the brand to close its doors.

In 2014, Alsta made a comeback in Switzerland. The new Alsta has started anew by choosing the Nautoscaph, worn by Richard Dreyfuss in the film "Jaws," as a commemorative reproduction watch to be called the "Jaws Watch."
