A joint project with hotels around Kyoto Station, "Summer Kyoto," will be held, featuring a special menu of "Kyoto vegetables and mangoes."

Jun 26, 2015

"Chef's Feast in Kyoto," a collaborative project by eight hotels around Kyoto Station, will be held again this year from July 1st to September 30th.

"Chef's Feast in Kyoto" was launched in 1999 with the aim of revitalizing the area around Kyoto Station. Hotels around Kyoto Station jointly hold four events annually: "Spring Kyoto" from January to March; "Gourmet Story" held twice a year from April to June and October to December; and this "Summer Kyoto" event.

For this year's "Summer Kyoto," chefs from each hotel have created menus featuring Kyoto vegetables as a common ingredient. Based on the theme of "Summer Kyoto," the menu features a variety of special dishes, each carefully selected for their ingredients, flavor, and presentation, featuring meat and fish as main dishes. The dessert ingredient chosen is mango, a perfect summer ingredient. This year, a Chinese restaurant will also be participating, and non-alcoholic wines suitable for women will also be available. Prices are 2,500 yen for lunch and 3,500 yen for dinner. Mango dessert is an additional 500 yen, and a mini bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine is 900 yen. Participating hotels are Hotel Keihan Kyoto, Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto, Hotel New Hankyu Kyoto, Kyoto Century Hotel, Kyoto Tower Hotel, Kyoto Tokyu Hotel, and Hotel Granvia Kyoto. The New Miyako Hotel will not be participating this time as some of its restaurants are closed for renovations. There will also be a stamp rally. If you eat the designated menu items at each hotel and participate in the stamp rally, you will receive a gift based on the total number of stamps you collect.
