ANREALAGE x SOMARTA to hold fashion exhibition using digital technology

Jun 26, 2015

The potential of "fashion x IT" is gaining global attention. The exhibition "Digital x Fashion: From Binary to ANREALAGE and SOMARTA" captures this trend and will be held at the Kobe Fashion Museum from July 11th to October 6th.

Digital fabric technology has recently become widely used in the fashion industry. This exhibition will feature the works of Kunihiko Morinaga, designer of ANREALAGE, and Tamae Hirokawa, designer of SOMARTA.

ANREALAGE thoroughly interprets and translates the concepts of digital and the latest technology, creating colorful, intricate patchwork and clothing with unique shapes that transcend the human body. This exhibition will showcase Kunihiko Morinaga's work, which continues to inspire new ideas in fashion, in a new format. Somarta has created new forms of beauty by fusing the latest digital technology with ancient, traditional techniques, as seen in the "Skin Series," worn by Madonna and Lady Gaga. This exhibition will feature the latest pieces created specifically for the exhibition, as well as a variety of works by Tamae Hirokawa, whose work extends beyond the field of fashion. Related events include talk shows with Kunihiko Morinaga on July 11 and Tamae Hirokawa on July 12. Gallery talks by museum curators will also be held on August 2 and September 20. The "Sukiyaki Loves Series" exhibition corner will also feature a variety of items created through FELISSIMO's "Sukiyaki" project, which has produced a variety of collaborative items, including those featuring the virtual singer Hatsune Miku.
